Professional Standards
Trusted. Experienced. Outcome-focused.
Our Standards Are the Foundation of Your Confidence.
When you engage Harlequins Health & Safety, you need to know that the advice you receive is legally sound, professionally accountable, and delivered by someone with the right qualifications, experience, and commitment to ongoing development.
Professional Standards & Credentials
Our work is underpinned by recognised professional qualifications across health and safety, fire safety, and training - ensuring that every piece of advice, every audit, and every training session is delivered to a professional standard.

-
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
-
NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management
-
NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management — currently in progress
Professional Membership:
-
Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) — TechIOSH
-
NAHSICS - National Association for Safety & Health in Care Services.
-
Actively working towards Chartered Membership (CMIOSH) - anticipated upon successful completion of the NEBOSH Diploma
Training Qualifications:
-
Award in Education and Training (AET) — Level 3
-
Award in Education and Training (AET) — Level 4
These training qualifications mean that when we deliver face-to-face health and safety training, it is taught by someone qualified to teach - not just someone who knows the subject.
Continuous Professional Development We maintain an active commitment to CPD in line with IOSH requirements, including monitoring of HSE guidance updates, legislative changes, and sector-specific regulatory developments. Our clients benefit directly from this - receiving advice that reflects the current regulatory landscape, not last year's understanding of it.

What Our Credentials Mean for You
Professional qualifications in health and safety exist for good reason. They demonstrate that an adviser has been assessed against a recognised standard - that their knowledge is current, their understanding is tested, and their practice is accountable.
In an unregulated market where anyone can call themselves a health and safety consultant, credentials matter. Here is what ours mean in practice:
-
NEBOSH General Certificate - the industry-recognised benchmark qualification for H&S professionals, covering UK legislation, risk assessment, and workplace hazard management
-
NEBOSH Fire Certificate - a specialist qualification in fire safety risk management, directly underpinning our fire risk assessment and fire safety compliance services
-
TechIOSH membership — demonstrates commitment to professional standards, ethics, and ongoing development within the H&S profession
-
CMIOSH (in progress) — Chartered status, the highest professional grade within IOSH, demonstrating mastery of health and safety management at a strategic level
-
AET Level 3 & 4 — formal teaching qualifications, ensuring training delivery meets professional educational standards
Our Professional Commitments
Beyond qualifications, professional practice in health and safety requires a commitment to ethics, accountability, and continuous improvement. At Harlequins, we hold ourselves to the following standards:
-
We provide honest, evidence-based advice — even when that advice is not what a client wants to hear
-
We do not overstate our expertise or take on work that falls outside our competence without appropriate support or referral
-
We maintain professional indemnity and public liability insurance, providing financial accountability for the advice we give
-
We operate in accordance with the IOSH Code of Conduct
-
We are transparent about our qualifications, our development journey, and the basis for our recommendations
-
We keep our knowledge current through active CPD and sector monitoring

Looking Ahead
Harlequins Health & Safety is a growing practice, and our professional development reflects our ambitions for the business and our clients.
The NEBOSH Diploma is currently underway — the Level 6 qualification that will complete the pathway to Chartered IOSH membership (CMIOSH). Chartered status represents the gold standard of professional recognition in occupational health and safety, and achieving it is a firm commitment, not an aspiration.
As the business grows, we are committed to maintaining the same standard of professional rigour across any associates or team members who work under the Harlequins name — ensuring that every client, regardless of which team member supports them, receives advice that meets the same professional standard.
